I started many this summer when we were in Canada (with minimal internet access), but have trouble incorporating them into daily life at home. The book I finished recently was read in one evening. I just ignored the dirty dishes and kept reading until I finished the book. But I can't really make that a habit =).

What I would like to do is read while I am outside watching my children play in our yard or at the park. Hopefully I can manage to try it a few times before the impending cold weather hits!Aiming4Simplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11109113147823332056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-82487351298329043692010-10-19T23:48:56.782-04:002010-10-19T23:48:56.782-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Aiming4Simplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11109113147823332056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-9416868125177796292010-10-19T16:45:12.295-04:002010-10-19T16:45:12.295-04:00I love to read. I really enjoyed the books.
It's hard to make the time with a 14 month old. Something usually suffers when I pick up a new book and it's usually my blog. I can't justify taking time out from anything else. Reading is part of the reason I took so much time off from my blog after we got back from vacation.

I read when baby naps and when she sleeps. It usually means I'm up waaaay late and pay for it the next day.M @ Betty Crapperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00740080768608041744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-24376256584650091062010-10-19T11:41:59.978-04:002010-10-19T11:41:59.978-04:00I am a total bookworm. I want to read all the books in the world but that is not possible. =( I can try though. =p You should get a shalfari site going if you don't have that already. I just got The Grace of God by Andy Stanley from Booksneeze and on the way is Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-18131266889904844892010-10-19T10:05:55.934-04:002010-10-19T10:05:55.934-04:00Cindy, my hubby and I were just talking the other ...Cindy, my hubby and I were just talking the other day about how we have the HARDEST time getting through books about prayer! I think mainly because they make me want to drop everything and pray...which means I never get through the book. Silly.

If you've never read MacDonald, I would start with "The Princess and The Goblin"...it's my favorite of his. :DAliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09258122979960993351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-73201506509582242702010-10-19T09:58:29.323-04:002010-10-19T09:58:29.323-04:00I have wanted to read George MacDonald, since he&#...I have wanted to read George MacDonald, since he's so often quoted by C.S. Lewis, so now I think I'll request that one at the library for my next book. Thanks for the recommendation!

I just finished Kevin Roose's Unlikely Disciple. It's a good read, particularly if you notice a culture clash between Christian and non in your life.

I've been slowly (ever so slowly) going through Andrew Murray's "With Christ in the School of Prayer" most mornings. I've had it for years and have never read it. I don't know why, it's so good!CindyChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11465925613716349619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-18663321771167452262010-10-19T09:19:51.065-04:002010-10-19T09:19:51.065-04:00Kelly, I haven't read any of those three books...Kelly, I haven't read any of those three books, but want to read all of them!!

Candi, I suppose that's true! I think my problem is that I like TOO MANY things. ;)

Wow, look at you go, Snowflakes! It is true that having a kiddo has seemed to interrupt my reading habits...although I could say the same for having a blog! I just need to make it a priority. :) Thanks for sharing everything you're reading.Aliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09258122979960993351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-43305234028478269192010-10-19T08:50:27.335-04:002010-10-19T08:50:27.335-04:00This is a fun topic! Devos: Stepping Up: A Journey through the Psalms of Ascent by Beth Moore, Desiring God by John Piper, Elijah: A Man of Fire and Rain (I think that's teh full title) by Ray Pritchard, and Thin Within: A Grace-Oriented Approach to Weight Loss by Dr. Arthur and Judy Halliday (I think.) For fun, I'm reading Beverly Lewis's 2nd book in the Daughters of Abram series, and a men's devotional to review for Thomas Nelson on my blog. On my "to read next" list are Phillipa Gregory's newest, along with Eat Pray Love (if I like it) and the rest of the Beverly Lewis series I started. Good thing I don't have kiddos yet, or I'd never finish any of these!!!! She's right...I'd rather be cooking and baking and blogging. :)Candihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15773851591933516004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747990468719074509.post-70236598260623090452010-10-19T08:24:29.229-04:002010-10-19T08:24:29.229-04:00Since I am a graduate student as well as a mom, I ...Since I am a graduate student as well as a mom, I don't have a lot of time for choosing books to read, but since I am working on my PhD in literature, I am lucky that I like the books that I have to read. Some of my favorites this semester were "Frankenstein," "Wuthering Heights," and "Bleak House."Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09658452546101844303noreply@blogger.com
