Sticky Chicken with Memaw's Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes |
Which translates into not wanting to plan a menu for this week. However, since I know that those 10-15 minutes spent planning out our meals will make such a difference in my week, I bit the bullet (AFTER taking a two hour nap).
Here's what I came up with. Keep in mind, if I happen to not be feeling well, that any or all of these meals may be substituted with spaghetti and or cold cereal. But we'll hope for the best. I stuck 2 crock-pot meals in the mix for good measure.
Breakfasts: Homemade Yogurt (I plan on making a big batch after I buy more honey), cold cereal, granola, smoothies, Blueberry Zucchini Bread (just pulled a loaf out of the freezer!)
Lunches: leftovers, salads
Dinners:
Monday--"Awesome" Stew with yellow rice
Wednesday--Dinner at a friend's house
Thursday--Sticky Chicken (crockpot!) with Memaw's Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes (the mashed potatoes are from the freezer).
Friday--Baked Ziti with Spicy Sausage, garlic bread, and carrots
Saturday--Crockpot Chicken and Brown Rice Casserole with BroccoliI hope your week is off to a great start!
In my foggy daze, I forgot to link back to Org Junkie's Menu Plan Monday (how rude!). Do forgive me...it's rectified now!
Feel better soon, dear!
ReplyDeleteOh no, being sick and thinking about food is not fun at all :( I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDelete:( Feel better! I'm still impressed, though. If I felt like that, my menu planning would be telling my husband to buy some frozen pizzas.
ReplyDeleteOh no hope your feeling better, maybe a couple days rest and no shredding is all you need.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your enjoying the sticky chicken, maybe some homemade chicken noodle soup is what you need, but get hubby to make it.
I would love to try making homemade yogurt. I always think I am going to and then I chicken out.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
Every time I catch a cold or am somehow under the weather I am reminded how important freezer meals (or prep) and the crockpot are to SAHMs.
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
Thanks, ladies!! Hopefully I'll be as good as new soon...
ReplyDeleteJenna, I had a bowl of sticky chicken broth yesterday evening for dinner! :)
Sheena, don't worry! Even us chickens can conquer homemade yogurt. Give it a shot. :D

Do feel better soon! It's hard trying to run a home when you are feeling like pooh, so remember to rest up. If everyone has to eat cold spaghetti, so be it! and yes, to Shell, this is one of those times where you just really need prepared frozen foods in the freezer. *smacking head at why I HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET!!!*
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling well! I hope the nap helped, but if it didn't, there's nothing wrong with spaghetti and cereal!
ReplyDeleteLooks Yummy. Hope you feel better. Isn't it nice to lean on the crock pot to help out with the "heavy lifting" of supper preparation when you are not feeling 100%?
ReplyDeleteVisiting from orgjunkie's Menu Plan Monday
Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you tried to plan a good menu - some freezer items and things that maybe don't need a lot of at the stovetop time. But I agree that when I don't menu plan my week is always a disaster. Good luck and hope you feel better
ReplyDeleteMemaw's green beans sounds fab! I will have to give it a whirl soon.
ReplyDeleteStop by and see me sometime over at Free 2 Be Frugal.
Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour menu plan sounds delicious. I'm also a fan of chicken and mashed potatoes.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week at your house! Ziti is a favorite around here. I woke up Friday morning, sick. I hope you feel better soon!
