1) The crispness in the air. Obviously, this makes the rest of Fall possible. And it gives me a refreshing burst of energy. Growing up, when the weather would cool down, our dog would start excitingly running laps around our house in the morning. When fall comes to Florida, it's time to celebrate, ya'll.
2) Hot drinks. A piping cup of tea makes my day. Earl Gray is my favorite. Really, you're never too old for tea parties.
3) Sweaters. Here in the Sunshine State, it's just a blessing when all the midriff-showing, ultra-short shorts clad, flip-flop loving masses start wearing more clothes. And I just like sweaters. They're cozy (cozy is one of my favorite words, and I get to use it in abundance during the Fall season!).
4) Soup. With the help of the best chicken broth ever, my soups are going to be out. of. this. world. At least, that's what I'm humbly hoping for. ;)

6) Fabulous utility bill. Oh yeah.
7) It's no longer suicidal to exercise outside. I'm thinking about doing a 5k when Jillian is finished pulverizing me.
8) Bonfires! And camping.
9) The time change. An extra hour is something worth celebrating.
10) Candles. Yankee Candle and Bath and Body Works sell my favorite candles. I'm going to sit on the couch, wearing a sweater, reading a book, sipping on hot tea, eating pumpkin yumminess in my candle-lit living room. How could you possibly not like Fall?
I'm linked to Oh Amanda's Top Ten Tuesday.
Ah, too bad we don't live next door to each other! This sounds wonderful! Now, if I can make time to sit down with a cup of tea and read :)
ReplyDeleteI love fall too. Great list.
ReplyDeleteI love fall smells and fall colors and, most importantly, fall temperatures!!
ReplyDeleteAnd how about apples? I love my little appletree in fall with red apples ready for picking and making applepie, applesauce or baked apples with!
ReplyDeleteLove Amelie
Your Top 10 would be my Top 10 too. The pictures were gorgeous too, just really made my day stopping by this morning! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, how much I love fall for all those that you mentioned plus the changing of the leaves! :) Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteFall has always been my all time favorite season. It's that crisp air as you've said. Love love love it.
ReplyDelete#7 made me laugh out loud! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am always ready for fall to arrive, too.
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love all the colorful leaves. And it's our anniversary time :)
ReplyDeleteI am such a huge fan of Fall, though we don't really have that season here in Phoenix, but I decorate for it, and eat pumpkin yummies and around November I can break out my sweaters (I too am a huge sweater person, ironic that I ended up in the desert). Great list!
ReplyDeleteFall is my most favoritest season. So favorite in fact, I make up words just to show the season how special it is to me! ;) We get fall here in Iowa, which is a great change from Texas {where you have summer and not summer, probably like FL}.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been really weird here in "sunny California" so I'm not sure what to expect. I'm planning on doing a 5K by the end of 2011. I could/would/will/have not exercised outside in the hot temperature. Okay, I take it back, I've played sports outside, but that was long ago, and I very much like to be more comfortable these days. It's cold today and warming up over the weekend, so who knows what season it is over here. =p
ReplyDeleteI laughed aloud at the joy of more clothes. :) It is a blessing, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love all the holiday foods that start coming out, like eggnog!
Yes to pumpkin!!! I can't wait to try some new pumpkin recipes!! Oh, and I feel ya w/ the exercising outside...maybe I'll start doing it now.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE fall too!! I miss it SO much! Year long summers are just not for me! (Yet I encouraged my husband to put in for a year extension?? Sometimes I wonder why!) We still do our best to celebrate fall though! I also love Yankee candles, especially the fall flavored ones. And pumpkin! YUM-O!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would say NO to, especially in fall is camping! You had me on the bonfire...but I was never much of a camper to begin with. My mom would take my sisters, and once I could drive I would come join them for the day then go home or sleep in the car at least!!
Miriam, I wish we were neighbors, too!
ReplyDeleteAmelie: YES, I am excited about apples. So many yummy apple recipes are going to start appearing all over the blogosphere.
Joyce, why so long until the 5K? *curious* I want to run a 5K to...I never have!
Audrey: How could I have forgotten eggnog? MY FAVORITE!
Christine, I have got an AWESOME pumpkin recipe coming your way soon! One that is fabulous all year round...
Crystal, I think camping is an acquired taste, sometimes. :D
I have yet to find one close by at a time I won't be too busy to train....and I don't want to run in the rain. =p
