Blogosphere Bits 12.11

Blogosphere Bits has become more of a monthly feature here at Alicia's Homemaking, since I am making an effort to scale my posting down to an average of 4-5 times/week.

With that being the case, I have loads of links I could share with you!

First, the fun holiday cheer ones:

The awesome QuatroMama is having a Christmas Card Link-Up! Even if you don't have a Christmas card post to link up, you have to click over so that you can see her adorable 2008 card of her quadruplets.

While you're at Jen's place, spend a little time gaining weight looking at her recipe for Andes Mint Cookies!

For some decoration fun, check out 320 Sycamore's lovely candle vases that can be adapted for any of the four seasons. I {heart} the dollar store for home decorating. 'Cause personally Pier 1 is not in the budget when you are in grad school!

__________

Ok. Can you pause now and switch gears? Because the above posts are lighthearted and fun, but these next two tug at my heart deep down.

I am acutely aware this holiday season that I do not need anything under my Christmas tree! What do I lack? I have food, housing, and all my family members healthy and with me. That is HUGE. I'm not bashing Christmas gifts. I'm just feeling the disproportion of things lately...especially after watching the video at the end of this post. The post is good, but don't miss the video.

Then I read Oh Amanda's Plea, and I'm pretty sure all "I" want for Christmas now are chickens, mosquito nets, and goats.

I'm linked to Saturday Stumbles and Share Your Faves. :)

P.S. The WINNER of the Yoplait Frozen Smoothies Prize Pack (including the Kitchen Aid Blender!) is comment #57--Shelley! Look for my email, Shelley, and congrats!
