I'm putting Try New Adventures Thursday on hold for the next 3 weeks while my husband is off of work and school. Our typical routine has gone by the wayside for a bit, and we're enjoying each other's company and spending long-hoped-for time with friends. We're having a staycation of sorts (until we leave for our CRUISE in 8 days!).
Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a year-long membership to List Plan It! I'll be drawing a winner for this giveaway soon.
Have you ever taken a staycation? What did you do (besides lounge around in your pjs!)?
It seems like I always prepare a blog post for TNAT when it gets cancelled! Oh well. Enjoy your staycation!! http://chicagodavis.blogspot.com/2012/07/vacation-with-littles.html
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry, Stephanie! I have been inconsistent lately...but I've rather given up on keeping all the "rules of a good blogger." Just trying to be a good mommy/wife! :D I'm excited to read your post, though. :) Thanks for leaving the link!
DeleteDay trips! The splash park, the zoo, a special play ground, short local camping trip, an a picnic in the back yard.
ReplyDeleteI actually just said that if we have a staycation in our near future I want to rent jetski's for a morning and take the sunset cruise ferry to see a part of the coast I haven't before...things we don't do in "real life" because they're "expensive" but that are "cheap" if it counts as vacation without gas, airfare, hotels, or eating out. The tricky part of a staycation for me as mom is breaking the routine of "doing" and actually spending more time on the vacation part of things. When hubby stays home from work he can feel like he left work but when "work" is home it takes so much more purposefulness to no "do" the normal things that aren't actually required to "survive." Last thing...clean the house before the staycation starts so you won't be tempted :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great time with your boys! Miss you guys! :)
