Introducing: Try New Adventures Thursday

One of my goals in life is to become an interesting person. To grow old and not be bored or boring. It's pretty easy to be boring...wake up, go to work, come home, watch tv, go to bed. Boooooorrrring. Nothing against any of those things (ok, well maybe a little something against *most* tv shows), but if that's the majority of what every day looks like, then.....boring.

That's probably not what your day looks like. If you're like me, you're probably running around, changing diapers, wiping noses, cleaning dishes, paying bills, kissing cheeks, doing the grocery shopping. Sometimes it's mundane, but they are important things.

But even in the daily tasks, I want to remember to learn new things, try new skills, stretch myself, have adventures. I don't want to stop learning and growing.

In this vein, I am introducing a new blog hop, Try New Adventures Thursday. It will start next Thursday, and you can join me in trying new adventures, both big and small. Get creative!

Tell us about a recent "new adventure" for you: meeting new people, going new places, trying a new routine, or simply getting creative in the kitchen and making a recipe you never made before (or making one up). Have you learned a new skill? Tried water skiing for the first time? Conquered your fear of sushi? Are you learning about another culture?

I'm a new mom, so I'm sure some of my new adventures will be earth-shattering things like giving Squishy solid food for the first time, and so on. So you don't have to climb Everest to participate in this blog hop. ;)

For the purposes of this meme, the following will not count as as "trying a new adventure":
  • product reviews (there's Things I Love Thursday for this!)
  • posting your tried-and-true-I've-made-it-a-hundred-times chili recipe
  • that's all I can think of for now
Will you join me and try something new every week?

Each Thursday you can link up, and for extra fun, follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #TryNewAdventures. I'll be doling out re-tweets and comments. :)

  3. Another great way to learn and explore the world is through reading works of literature. This is more a goal than a reality for me at this point.
