Catching Up...

I've been blogging in my head...it just hasn't quite made it to the computer screen this week. :)

Over the weekend, our family went on a road trip to visit our newest god-child and celebrate her birth...

...and keep company with dear, long-time friends...

...and kiss many a chubby cheek...

...and go to a ritzy wedding on a Florida beach with my handsome husband...

It was lovely.

Real life is back in full swing now...Andrew is drowning in tests and practicums, and I'm soothing a teething son who is cutting his second molar. Our semi-schedule is in shambles because we can't seem to get to bed on time. I am tremendously behind in my Bible reading plan and with keeping track of finances and with a few other things I can't even remember right now. Spring cleaning is temporarily on hold. But my heart is at peace in the mess...life is messy and I have been given so much life.

I have lots to share with you, but for now I must figure out what I need at the grocery store and get my little boy out of his pjs...

P.S. This Thursday, I'm planning to share my 1st ever canning adventure with you! :D
P.S.S. I'm a little late in announcing this, but the winner of Not My Mother's Casseroles was Ruth, who left comment #50!

  1. Oh, good luck with the molars. My daughter cut all four of hers at the same time and it was TERRIBLE! I felt so bad for her, but I wouldn't have traded it for anything because it reminded me that I have a little daughter and she is a precious gift, even when she is teething!

  2. Somehow I haven't had the week that you have and I feel like my "world" is in shambles! It sounds like molars are miserable things... makes me not look forward to Susannah getting hers very much, haha! But maybe she'll wait to do it until I have everything caught up and nothing to do :P Anyway, I was commenting to be an encouragement to YOU, so hang in there! This too shall pass :) As my sister would say, if you think you have problems today, just wait a couple days and you'll have a new set of problems :P

  3. Life is messy, great perspective to look at the mess as a blessing for how much life you've been given!

Oh molars. I hope it comes in quickly and Squishy can get some relief.

    Those photos are gorgeous!

Can't wait to hear about your canning adventures.

  4. Amanda, I can't imagine all 4 coming in at once! Sounds agonizing. The last one took 2 weeks to come in...with 1 week of misery. This time he seems to be handling it a bit better, but is definitely more fussy than normal!

Miriam, I get this feeling that you and I are super alike! Thanks for the encouragement (I think...lol!). :) :)

Katie, I always appreciate your cheerful comments. :)

  5. What an adorable baby! Did you take that sweet picture? I LOVE it!

I'll be praying for you this week! Molars are no fun. I think H's is getting hers in, because she's been drooling a lot and has said "teeth hurt" a few times. But thankfully, it's not been too bad.

Tell Andrew happy birthday {it's today, right??}.
