Highlights of the week

I'm going to make a list, because I like lists (most of them!).

Fabulous parts of my life/my week:
  • Staying up way too late with some girlfriends and watching the women's Olympic figure skating final event. Seriously, I didn't get to bed until 1:30 am, and I had gotten up at 4:30 that morning! But it was worth it. This was always my favorite part of the winter Olympics growing up. After watching it, my sisters and I would put on socks and go slide around on the kitchen floor, trying to be graceful and elegant.
  • Andrew and I playing with Little W....singing songs and making him do hand motions. Around our house, Little W. is known as "The Squishy." This is from Finding Nemo, where Dori says, "You will be my squishy and I will call you my squishy!" So this morning you see me holding W. and singing (to the tune of Frere jaque): "You are squishy/ you are squishy/ yes you are!/ Yes you are!/ You're my squishy smushy/ you're my squishy smushy/ yes you are/ yes you are!" Totally cheesy. All of this makes Little W. laugh, which is worth it.
  • Ritz crackers, topped with a slice of brie, topped with craisins Enough said.
  • Having people over for dinner and experimenting by feeding them something I'd never made before. Scary! But fun.
  • Trying to make cornbread in my new skillet and totally failing. Ah well, live and learn!
  • Singing while washing the dishes. My husband and I have been doing this together. :)
I have been given much. Just to walk in Jesus' peace everyday is amazing...I've grown accustomed it, so sometimes I forget how amazing it is. Do you know what I mean?

Love, Alicia
