Top Ten Countries I'd Love To Visit

With a husband in grad school and a baby in tow, I currently travel sitting on my couch--with a book. But I miss the real thing.

If money were no issue, you'd find me in:

1) England. I know, I know--the touristy American rears her head! But I would really love to sit and drink a cup of tea in England. And sit and listen to all the beautiful accents. In a castle.

2) China. We have dear friends in China (former International students who have moved back home) and they've always told us we could hop around the country, staying at their different homes. Of course, China's so large I'm not sure how easy it would be to "hop" from house to house.

3) Canada. I just want to drive around in New Brunswick. Oh yes, and drink cherry cordial on Prince Edward Island.

4) France. What do I want to do in France? Eat.

5) Ireland. The cliffs make me swoon.

6) Australia. Particularly the Great Barrier Reef.

7) India. I don't see myself vacationing here, per se. Amy Carmichael, who I deeply admire, lived and died in Southern India, and I want to visit the orphanage she founded (Dohnavur). My godfather has been to Dohnavur, which is still operating 100 years later.

Pictured is my friend Christi getting acquainted with an elephant on her trip to India.

8) Niagara Falls. Oooops, that's not a country. Oh well--it's still way up there on my list.

9) Italy. Italian pizza, anyone?

10) New Zealand. Plane tickets to this place are ridiculous. I can see why.

Where would you go? Or have you already been?

I'm linked up to Oh Amanda's Top Ten Tuesday and to Mrs.Sojourner's Travel Tales and Tips. :)

P.S. Germany and Austria would have been WAY up there on my list, but happily, I've been to those countries. :)

  1. Oh you covered most of the places I want to visit! Although I have little desire to go to France or England, I would add Greece and Amsterdam (I know- not a country) myself, I LOVE history and I just totally want to go see the ruins in Greece as well as places like where Anne Frank lived and hid, and I think it would be interesting to see some of the death camps. We can learn so much from history!! Oh and Peru to see some ancient ruins....I may have to make my own list one of these Top Ten Tuesdays!!
    Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Wow, let me think. I really want to go to Italy and France the most, but I'd also love to go to Israel and so many other places!

I have friends in New Zealand, Australia, England, Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, and a few other places too, if you need a place to stay. :)

Oh, and Niagara Falls is DEFINITELY worth the visit.

  3. Great list. I might add Spain or Turkey. I've heard Turkey is beautiful. Oh, and Greece. The whole of South America. Morocco. Perhaps Switzerland. Yes, yes that would be one fine list to mark off. ;)

  4. Um, yeah...not sure how Niagara falls made it on there over SWITZERLAND. What was I thinking?!?

  6. I've never been outside of the U.S. myself, but when I was younger I wanted to travel extensively - especially in Europe. Hasn't happened yet....

In spite of some negative things I've heard, I'd like to visit Paris - just so much to see (and eat!) The countryside in Italy and the mountains in Austria are other locales I'd like to see.
