Try New Adventures Thursday: Spotlight's on You

My life lately has consisted of tissues, whispered conversations (because I have no voice!), a lot of time on the couch, and these 10 coping mechanisms. It's definitely not life as usual around here and the dirty dishes and laundry are starting to think they are getting off scotch-free (their reality check is coming).

All that to say, there have been no scintillating new adventures for me this week.

So! I wanted to take a moment to feature a few of the bloggers who have particiapted in past Try New Adventures Thursdays, because you guys are a lot of fun. I look forward to reading your posts each week! Here are a few that have really caught my eye:

Katie from Mama The Reader has taken on  a 365 challenge where she documents each day with a picture for an entire year. After seeing some of the sweet moments Katie has shot, I'm inspired to attempt this myself. Her pictures range from the commonplace--such as cutting up carrots for dinner--to a captured moment of quiet on the porch with her coffee and her Bible.

Mrs. Sojourner and her family are tackling Learning a New Language (among other things). Boy, does she ever put my puny adventures to shame! Check out her awesome blog, Mrs. Sojourner's Monologues, all about her family's adventures in a foreign land.

Joanna is shaking it up by taking frugal clotheswashing to the next level with I've Got A New Way to Wash. This girl is committed!

This last one just cracks me up. Using a Dryer Sheet To Clean Dirty Pans by Christine over at iDreamofClean. Sometimes you live and learn. I think Christine mentioned on twitter later that the "dryer sheet taste" transferred to the food cooked in that pan afterwards!

I'm excited to see what you all have to share with me this week! And, I also have a snazzy new Try New Adventures Thursday button to share with you.

Ta-da! What do you think?

Ok, so link up your blog post, link back here, and then visit around and spread some comment love to the other participants. As always, I will be tweeting your posts and lavishing on the comments, with perhaps a stumble or facebook share to boot.

  2. Aw, thanks Alicia. You paint me in such a flattering light, when the truth is I'm just too stubborn to feed any more quarters to a washing machine. :)

  3. For some reason it is not letting me post a linky. It says my IP address is blocked, which may have something to do with being in West Africa. Anyways, just wanted to let you know I tried! :) Hope you are starting to feel better.

  4. Mrs. Sojourner: I linked it up for you! Sorry for the trouble...I hope it's not something that recurs.

Joanna, I must not be stubborn enough. The thought of doing our laundry "by hand" still intimidates the stew out of me.

Today I have the first hints of feeling better! Hooray!

  5. Thanks! We'll see if it does it again next week. Living in a place in the world where pirated videos abound as do internet scams probably has something to do with it. ;)

So glad you are starting to feel better. Have squishy or your hubby been sick too?

  6. No, thankfully not! Here's hoping it stays that way. :D
