Routine, Spring Cleaning, and Menu Planning

My sister has been successfully married off. Spring Break officially ended yesterday {insert dramatic sigh here}. Breaks are always more needed than we knew, and our chance to get away as a couple was delightful.

But now it's back to the everyday. Routine and I can't go on too long without each other, so I'm happy to settle back into a groove. On top of that, I think I've been bitten by the spring cleaning bug! This is evidenced by the wild hair I got last night--I swept and mopped the kitchen floor, vacuumed, and brainstormed about organization. All at 7 pm! More on this later...anyone want to join me for some spring cleaning/purging/organizing?

Since we were out of town for the first week of March, monthly menu planning and freezer cooking fell by the wayside. Thankfully, there are still leftover freezer meals stashed away. I'm still hoping to put together a menu plan for the rest of March, but for now I've just jotted down a few dinner ideas off the top of my head based on what's in the freezer and what's on sale this week (namely, corned beef brisket for my husband's favorite meal!).

Monday--Buffalo Chicken (from the freezer)
Tuesday--Slow Cooked Corned Beef Brisket with Veggies (recipe next week...it wins my husband's undying affection every time.)
Wednesday--Grilled Chicken, Veggies, and Butterhorns
Thursday--Dinner at Home Group
Friday--Chicken Spaghetti (from the freezer)
Saturday--Parmesan Tilapia with Broccoli
Sunday--Johny Marzetti with Cheesy Noodles, peas on the side

It's warm enough to break out the grill here in Florida!

I'll sign off now...my brain is bursting with post ideas that I hope I'll have time to share with you this week. :)

Are you breaking out the warm weather meals yet or is it still soup and stew weather around your place?

There are still a couple days left to enter the Not Your Mother's Casserole's Giveaway!

  1. Spring is in the air, with cold days every now and then, so a bit of both here. But that springcleaning-bug has got me too!!! Open the windows and let the fresh air in, hurray!

  5. Great looking menu plan! I need to get back into freezing meals after I move. I'm saving the Johnny Marzetti. :)

  6. Nice menu! It's nice that the weather has changed so we can put away the soups and pull out the grill! I'd love to see your slow-cooker beef recipe - my mom used to make something like that often but I haven't tried it in ages.

  7. Hmm, yesterday it was 75, today it's cloudy and 53. So yes and no :) The spring cleaning bug bites me every now and then - but I have barely been having enough time to keep the bare necessities somewhat under control, and this week is going to be the same way! Maybe next week??!!

  8. Ummmm, no to the grilling as we had about 4" of snow today. I'm in the St. Louis, MO area. And the meteorologists here are still talking about a possible snow event at the end of the month!

  9. Kelley, that's unreal to me!
It's funny, because in "blog world" everyone starts talking about Fall LONG before it even feels remotely like Fall here in Florida. But then the reverse is that we get Spring so much sooner!

  10. Way to jump back in after spring break! Love routines and schedules even if we end up not following them.

  11. I'm trying to do the project simplify, but got busy this week so maybe a little. Next week I'm working on the boys' room so I can get prepared for a yard sale next weekend.
